Tuckamore Travels – 2026 Young Artist Tour

Each year, three musicians from Tuckamore’s Young Artist program are selected to represent the festival on a tour of Newfoundland’s Eastern region. This year, violinist Nadine Berthiaume, cellist Julian Lee De Vita, and pianist Tina Hsieh shared performances in Pouch Cove, Cupids, Avondale, and Port Rexton.

Their program featured Biophilic, a new work by 2026 Young Artist Composer Judah Williams, alongside Schubert’s Trio No. 2 in E-flat Major.

From the James Baird Gallery and Cupids Legacy Centre to a private performance at the Hoods’ residence and the beautiful Fishers’ Loft Inn, every stop offered a unique setting and a warm welcome.

The venues were intimate and every concert we were welcomed with the nicest hospitality from the host,” Julian shared. “It never failed to amaze us [to receive] the kind words and support we received from our audiences.”

For Tina, the experience was a memorable way to share music and connect with communities across the province. “It was such an honour to represent the Tuckamore Music Festival and bring our music to multiple places in Newfoundland,” she said, while expressing her gratitude to the festival staff, teachers, patrons, and fellow musicians who made the summer possible.

This tour has been an unforgettable experience that allowed me to grow not only as a musician, but also as a person. Meeting Tina and Julian, along with all of the incredible young artists and the dedicated Tuckamore staff, made this experience truly special. I am deeply grateful for everything I learned, the friendships I made, and the memories I will carry with me long after this tour.     – Nadine

The festival sends its warmest wishes to all of our 2026 Young Artists as they return to their studies, continue their musical journeys, or take their first steps into professional careers. We are grateful for the artistry, energy, and enthusiasm they brought to Tuckamore this summer, and for the many ways they enriched our festival and connected with audiences across Newfoundland.

We are proud to have been part of their musical journeys and look forward to seeing where their talent, dedication, and creativity take them next.
