Request for Proposals – Accounting Services

Background

Since 2001, the Tuckamore Festival has made Newfoundland and Labrador a destination
for chamber musicians from around the world. Tuckamore’s signature event is a two-week long
summer festival that brings together young artists and world-class musicians for concerts,
masterclasses, lessons, and more. Outside of the summer festival, Tuckamore curates a wide
range of year-round artistic and educational activities.

As a growing charitable arts organization, Tuckamore is now seeking contracted support with a
range of accounting, bookkeeping, and financial management tasks.

Scope of Work

Weekly/Bi-weekly/Monthly:
● prepare bi-weekly payroll for 2 permanent employees (and approximately 6-8
temporary employees during the annual festival)
● prepare monthly payroll remittance
● post revenue and expense transactions from invoices, receipts, deposit slips, cheque
stubs, bank statements, Visa statements, etc. (volume of transactions increases during
festival month and during months when fundraising events, outreach, etc. are
scheduled)
● prepare monthly bank reconciliation
● prepare monthly financial reports for internal reporting/budget monitoring

Annually
● compile financial statements for annual review in accordance with Accounting
Standards for Non-Profit Organizations (ASNPO) – Part III of the CPA Canada Handbook – Accounting
● prepare T3010 Registered Charity Information Return
● prepare GST66 Public Service Bodies’ Rebate
● prepare T4/T4A slips

Ad Hoc
● provide information as needed for event reporting, budget preparation, grant
applications, etc.
● prepare ROEs for temporary employees (post-festival)
● prepare and/or post adjusting entries as necessary

The selected contractor will also be required to do an initial set-up in an accounting software
package. Chart of Accounts/Trial Balance, Employee information, etc. will be provided.
