Newfoundland-born cellist Heather Tuach is a member of the Greenwich Trio in London, UK. Among the highlights of her career was performing Beethoven’s Triple Concerto with the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra (NSO) in September 2025. A dedicated chamber musician, Heather thrives in collaborative performance and recently appeared with Duo Concertante at London’s Conway Hall Sunday Concerts in February 2026.
Heather began her cello studies at Memorial University of Newfoundland before earning a Master of Music degree from McGill University and a Doctor of Musical Arts from Stony Brook University in New York. She also spent a year at the International Menuhin Music Academy in Switzerland, touring throughout Europe and Japan during her time there.
Previously, Heather was the cellist of the Fitzwilliam String Quartet, a position that first brought her to the UK. With the FSQ, she toured widely across the UK, Europe, North America, and South Africa, and recorded several albums, including Bruckner’s String Quartet and Quintet for Linn Records.
In addition to her performing career, Heather is a trustee of The Susanne Beer Cello Corner Foundation, which supports young cellists through instrument loans and tuition grants. She helps to organize fundraising concerts, sources cellos, and matches them with talented players in financial need.
