SUMMARY:Season Launch Concert with Duo Concertante
DESCRIPTION:Our award-winning artistic directors Nancy Dahn and Timothy Steeves launch the 2022 season with our annual free presentation! \nThe evening will begin with a debut performance by talented young pianist Scott Nguyen. Also on the program are two live world premieres: Krithika Venkataramadas’ Saudade (2022)\, created as part of our Widening the Circle Program\, and Peter Gardner’s Six Portraits for violin and piano. We’ll also hear from Nancy and Tim about all the wonderful concerts and events planned for this August. The program will close out with the Duo’s signature composer\, Beethoven. DESCRIPTION:The Tuckamore Festival invites you to our upcoming online community discussion\, a public event as part of the Widening the Circle composer mentorship program.\nWith Nicholas Dourado (Wholesound) \nThursday\, March 3\, 2pm PDT/3pm MDT/5pmEDT/6:30pm NDT\nOnline Zoom Meeting \nNicholas Dourado leads the Big Budi Band; a modular improvising ensemble as arranger\, saxophonist and piano player. They were trained by Jerry Granelli through the Creative Music Workshop in Halifax\, NS and have since gone on to play with Aquakultre\, Fiver\, Lido Pimienta\, Beverly Glenn-Copeland\, Century Egg and many others. They are a teacher and organizer and hold a master degree in ocean geophysics and acoustics. \nClick the “Register Here” button to register.
