DESCRIPTION:New Orford String Quartet members Jonathan Crow\, Sharon Wei and Adrian Fung join Tuckamore faculty Timothy Steeves\, Nancy Dahn and Vernon Regehr in an unforgettable musical evening. The centrepiece of the program is Schubert’s sublime and extraordinary C major Cello Quintet\, generally considered Schubert’s finest chamber work as well as one of the greatest compositions in chamber music. DESCRIPTION:A Klezmer super group of musical brilliance and breathtaking artistry. \nSchmaltz & Pepper is a spellbinding Yiddish music ensemble playing Klezmer inspired by jazz\, Roma\, classical\, and European folk music. This powerhouse group’s members include acclaimed Toronto Symphony principal clarinetist Eric Abramovitz\, a passionate and gifted klezmer musician\, and Grammy-nominated Drew Jurecka on violin/accordion/mandolin. Joined by JUNO-winning pianist Jeremy Ledbetter (CaneFire)\, JUNO-nominated bassist Michael Herring\, and renowned Payadora founder/violinist/vocalist Rebekah Wolkstein\, they produce and perform original arrangements of klezmer and Yiddish music\, displaying their joyous and virtuosic genre-bending fusion of many musical styles.
