An update from the Tuckamore Festival

A big change is happening behind the scenes at Tuckamore this year. Our Executive Director, Krista Vincent, is stepping down after nine years with the festival.

Krista joined Tuckamore as General Manager role in July 2014, as she was finishing her MA in ethnomusicology. Keen to apply some of her learnings about community engagement and audience building with a real live arts organization, within two weeks she was managing her first Tuckamore Festival. She’s been with us ever since.

First as General Manager and then Executive Director, Krista has played a huge role in the growth and professionalization of Tuckamore over those years. Working in close partnership with our Artistic Directors, she has been a vital support in executing the festival’s artistic ambitions.

From expanding Tuckamore’s work into year-round programming to leading a very successful pivot to online during the early days of COVID-19 to building up a great staff team, Krista has done it all, with a grace and warmth that the whole Tuckamore community – audience members, young artists, guest artists, board members, and volunteers – has benefitted from. She will be missed!

The show, of course, always goes on – and with that in mind, hiring for Tuckamore’s next Executive Director is now open. The job posting is available here and posted on various job boards. Please do spread the word to any talented arts administrators you know – the application deadline is May 25th.

In the interim, planning for this year’s festival continues uninterrupted thanks to the hard work of our dedicated staff team, with the support of our Board of Directors. We’re looking forward to a wonderful season.

Once again, on behalf of the Board and Artistic Directors, we’d like to thank Krista for her long service to Tuckamore.

Regards,

Josh Smee
Chair, Board of Directors
