The Canada Council for the Arts is proud to partner with Tuckamore Festival to present performances by gifted cellist Rachel Desoer, on a 1929 Carlo Giuseppe Oddone cello. Rachel is one of several talented musicians who have successfully competed for the loan of one of the legendary instruments from the collection of the Canada Council’s Musical Instrument Bank.
A repeat performance of their August 12th concert, but in the intimate setting of a restored church on the Southern Shore. Recent winners of the Banff International String Quartet Competition, the Cecila String Quartet presents a riveting program of Beethoven’s virtuosic Opus 18, No. 1, award-winning Katerina Curcin’s compelling “Walking away from,” and Mendelssohn’s tremendously spirited Opus 44, No. 1.
